Major Maryanne Haan,U.S. Air Force, (Ret.) 80 years old, died on November 28th, 2018. She was a constant encouragement, supporter and cheerleader for From Mists of Time’s passion to collect stories of WW II and Vietnam veterans. She joined the Air Force, traveling the world which included England, Labrador and Spain. She was instrumental in taking care of the wounded warriors who were recently evacuated out of Vietnam. Once she she completed an emergency airwave surgery on a patient in flight from California to Texas who was in respiratory distress.

After 20 years in the Air Force, Maryanne retired as Major. While assigned in England, she became interested and fond of antiques. Upon returning to the States, she opened her own antique shop, participated in antique shows throughout the region and the United States. Maryanne had great business sense and was always precise and honest. Over the years, the board of From Mists of Time relished in shopping at Maryanne and Maria’s antique shows and stores, gaining knowledge and understanding of items of American history as well as war history.
